The Surrey Association of Church Bell Ringers was founded on the 17th May 1880. Today the Association has about 600 members from 71 churches in Surrey and south London. Our aims, which have changed little since those early days, are to promote and support bell ringing in Surrey and south London.

The Association's activities are organised by an elected group of officers who meet three times a year.

Towers in the Association are separated into two Districts - the Northern and the Southern District. Each District is led by an elected group of ringers (including a Master and Secretary) who organise monthly practices and other social and ringing events. These events are open to all members, regardless of which District ringers belong to.

The Surrey Association is affiliated to the Central Council of Church Bell Ringers.

Belfry Repair Fund (BRF)

The BRF exists to help support in the restoration and maintenance of church bells in Surrey. We undertake a number of fund raising activities for the purpose of issuing grants to restoration projects as well as new installations. For news of projects the BRF are supporting, and details of who to contact for advice about bells and applying for a grant, see the Bell Restoration page.

Training Group

The Training Group runs a full programme of events for members once they can handle a bell. Usually one Saturday morning a month has a different training session aimed across the broad range of abilities. To find out more about our training activities see our Training page.
