PRESIDENT

Robert Cooles

Robert is a truly venerable gentleman of the Association. He brings style, dignity and good humour to every event that he attends.
 
VICE PRESIDENTS

The Bishops of Southwark; Guildford; Croydon; Kingston-upon-Thames; and Woolwich.  Honorary posts for local senior clergy and distinguished members.

GENERAL MASTER (GC)

Kate Flavell

The head of the business side of the Association. They chair the General Meetings and run the ringing at General Association events.

GENERAL SECRETARY (GC)

Richard Wallis

As well as all the arduous secretarial duties that concern the Association as a whole, this post is also that of treasurer.

BELFRY REPAIR FUND SECRETARY (GC)

Malcolm McAlister

Primarily responsible for fund raising. The Surrey Association has the proud position of raising more money for the BRF per annum per member than any other Association or Guild in the World!

ASSISTANT GENERAL SECRETARY (GC)

Simon Beirne

This post has the specific task of taking the minutes at the General Meetings.

TRAINING OFFICER (GC)

Paul Flavell

Training is something we excel at in Surrey. The Training Officer is the convenor of the highly active Training Committee.  They are responsible for the organisation of all the Training events, mainly by delegation to the rest of the committee!

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER (GC)

Chris Baldwin

Advises the General Committee on matters relating to member and public communication, edits the Association's newsletter and coordinates the Association's online presence.

PEAL SECRETARY

Shirley McGill

Keeps the official records of all peals rung for Association and writes the peal report for the Association's Annual Report.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER

Andrew Robinson

Independently examines all the Association's various accounts before they are presented to the members at the AGM.

CENTRAL COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVES

Jeremy Cheesman, Kate Flavell, Paul Flavell, Richard Wallis

The Surrey Association is affiliated to the Central Council of Church Bell Ringers. The CC Reps attend the Annual Meeting to look after our interests at this international level of ringing activity. They also serve on some of the Central Council committees. Several other Surrey members also serve on behalf of various other societies.

DISTRICT MASTERS (GC)

Caroline Prescott (ND) and Andrew Howell (SD)

They head the business of the Districts and run the District ringing events. This is a brief description of a lot of hard work.

DISTRICT SECRETARIES (GC)

Shirely McGill (ND) and Sue Dixon (SD)

Attend to the many details of running the Districts business and events. Another brief description of even more hard work. Their phone numbers and addresses are in the Annual Report.

ASSISTANT DISTRICT SECRETARIES (GC)

Jeremy Cheesman (ND) and Simon Beirne (SD)

Quite literally these posts exist to relieve the District Secretaries of some of their burden.

These members are available to help arrange district events and members in touch with Association activities.

Looks after the Archive.

LIBRARIAN

Looks after technical issue relating to the website.
