Now you've joined...

Now you are a member we'd like to tell you about some of the ways we support local ringing and how you can be involved.

Who are we?

The Surrey Association of Church Bell Ringers was founded on the 17th May 1880. Today the Association has about 600 members from 71 churches in Surrey and south London. Our aims, which have changed little since those early days, are to promote and support bell ringing in Surrey and south London.

Keep in touch

Bell ringers in the Surrey area can stay up to date with news and events here on the Surrey Association website or why not join one of our email groups, like us on facebook or follow us on twitter, just click the links at the bottom of this page for more details.

We also publish a quarterly newsletter which you'll find in your tower or you can read it online here.
Opportunities to ring

One of the ways we help support local ringers is by organising local practices and training events. These give you the opportunity to visit other towers, meet local ringers and work on your skills with helpful, experienced ringers to guide you. See our events and training pages for more details.

Support our work

The Surrey Association Belfry Repair Fund is a registered charity that provides grants to churches towards the cost of bells, their fittings or for their repairs, or for structural, mechanical or sound control work. Since it's first grant in 1953 the Belfry Repair Fund has supported around 100 different projects to ensure the sound of the bells can continue to be enjoyed in the local area. We need your help to continue this important work.

Please note membership is subject to approval at a public meeting of the association.  The Surrey Association reserves the right to refuse an application or request further information in support of it.

The full annual subscription fee is due at the time of election and must be paid within 3 months.  Subscription for any resident member elected on or after 1st October shall run to 31st December of the following year.  Some towers will collect or pay subscriptions for their members, please ask your tower captain or secretary to clarify the practice for your tower.
